Do Angoras Make Good Pets?

Angora rabbits make excellent pets, if you’re willing to care for them. Angoras love to interact with people and even other critters in the house. They will actually bond with their people and really enjoy spending time with them.

Angoras can be litter trained, but please note that while they may poop and pee in their box it’s never perfect. Rabbits do tend to hop and poop at the same time. Please keep this in mind if you have a rabbit loose in the house.

I would also urge you to maybe make them their own space where they don’t have to be watched constantly. Angoras can be trouble makers and like to chew, especially cords. They can get into little spaces (under a recliner is a great hiding spot for bunnies), and be almost impossible to get out. With their own space you can control what they can get into. This will also limit poop around the house and contain it in one space.

Angora rabbits are great with kids, if the child respects the rabbit. Please keep in mind that when a rabbit gets aggravated or wants to be free to play or explore. They can and will bite, not hard, but enough that they will be put down. You can usually tell when an angora wants to be let go. They can stomp, grunt, squirm, even pee on you. If any of these things happen let them go play or put them back in their space.

Overall angoras make wonderful family pets.
